In “The Urantia Papers”, said given from celestial beings whose purpose was stated is to inform us about creation and the reality of the spirit world of eternal existence and immortal being. They give us a history of our creation, evolution and being. In relation to the teachings that we are “Sons of God”, this teaching tell us why and how we could be.
It should be understood that although mind is spirit energy, spirit and mind are not the same as defined by function although both are spirit of the one source of all. God the Father spirit is a personality and direct source of all creations and endow particular creations with personalities for potential eternal existence and being. His eternal son, a different personality or aspect of God is home of all realities. The infinite creative spirit, also a particular aspect and different personality of God is the source of all mind, the creating agent of spirit.
“GOD is unity. The universe of universes is one vast integrated mechanism which is absolutely controlled by one infinite mind. The physical, intellectual, and spiritual domains of universal creation are divinely correlated.
For this creating, controlling, and upholding mind is neither material mind nor creature mind; it is spirit-mind functioning on and from creator levels of divine reality.
Minds are the expanding consciousness of evolving personalities. Since the mind of the universe mechanism is creative spirit-mind (even the mindedness of the Infinite), it can never be discovered or discerned by the lower-level minds of the universe, much less by the lowest mind of all, the human.
The fact of the cosmic mind explains the kinship of various types of human and superhuman minds. Not only are kindred spirits attracted to each other, but kindred minds are also very fraternal and inclined towards co-operation the one with the other.
The mind of man is an individualized circuit, an impersonal portion, of that cosmic mind.
Mortal man has a spirit nucleus. The mind is a persona-energy system existing around a divine spirit nucleus and functioning in a material environment. Such a living relationship of personal mind and spirit constitutes the universe potential of eternal personality.
The possession of personality identifies man as a spiritual being since the unity of selfhood and the self-consciousness of personality are endowments of the super-material world. See, Personality Forever Unique and Un-changeable.
The ego IS the belief of the mind that it is completely on its own. The ego is NOT the self. The ego is nothing more than a PART of Your belief about yourselves.
Your other (spirit) life has continued without interruption and has been and always will be totally unaffected by your attempts to dissociate. The ratio of repression and dissociation of truth varies with the individual ego-illusion, but dissociation is always involved, or you would not believe that you ARE here. Note: This belief attachment to the body is ultimately a self-imposed limitation.
The ego’s identification with the physical form prevents it from recognizing its true essence, which is beyond the confines of the body. It is only by transcending this illusion and realizing the impermanence and illusory nature of the body that the ego can begin to dissolve and align with the deeper truth of existence.
In essence, the ego’s attachment to the body is a defense mechanism, a way to maintain a sense of self in a world that is constantly changing. However, this attachment perpetuates the illusion and hinders the ego from experiencing its true nature. Only by letting go of this attachment and recognizing the transient nature of the physical form can the ego begin to awaken to its true essence and transcend the confines of the illusion.
In a sense, the ego was a man-made attempt to perceive himself as he wished, rather than as he is. Consider how much vigilance you have been willing to exert to protect your ego, and how little you have been willing to exert to protect your higher mind.
