“Thought Projections Appearing as Matter, the Hologram” give an understanding of an excerpt taken from and based on a teaching of Sananda, presented in “A Phoenix Journal”. In these journals, Sananda is said to be the ascended, cosmic identity of Jesus Christ.
In these teachings, “Sananda” is said to mean “One with God” and is considered the spiritual name or title Jesus took after his earthly incarnation. The Phoenix Journals claim to be transmitted messages from Sananda and other spiritual beings, offering guidance for humanity’s spiritual evolution.
Quoting from and responding to “THE HOLOGRAPHY BOOK”, by, Jeff Berne, 1980. Sananda tells us, “Within the past few years a theory has been developing which may further unify all aspects of mankind, including its religions.
This theory has not yet had wide circulation among non-scientists. It is known as the “Holographic Theory of the Universe”. There is even a “holographic super theory”, which states in a nutshell, the holographic super theory says that our brains mathematically construct’ hard’ reality by interpreting frequencies from a dimension transcending time and space. The brain is a hologram, interpreting a holographic universe. The holographic model also helps explain the strange power of the image—why events are affected by what we imagine, what we visualize. An image held in a transcendental state may be made real.”
WHAT IS REAL?
Is thought projection really real? Sananda/Jesus says, “How can I explain to you that if this be so–you can only conjure on a plane of illusion within a physical environment–FOR YOU ARE HUMAN, IN PHYSICAL EXPRESSION! Therefore, is it not with great wisdom that you consider that Ones of the etheric realms of Creation be able to produce a factual holographic duplicate from projections, but that any entity FROM THE PHYSICAL cannot do so. From the physical aspect, only duplicates and synthetics can be DEVELOPED–not–CREATED AS LIFE FORMS AS THOUGHT-BASED, GOD-SOURCE BEINGS.”
Between Illusion and Reality, what is Truly Real?
The text claims that the physical world is a “projection of thought appearing as matter”—essentially, an illusion or a hologram. This idea is echoed in both Eastern philosophies (like Hinduism and Buddhism) and some modern spiritual interpretations, which suggest that what we perceive as reality is a temporary, changeable reflection of a deeper, unchanging truth.
Physical vs. Etheric Creation
The passage draws a distinction between what humans can do in the physical world and what higher beings (in “etheric realms”) can do: Humans can only make “copies” or “imitations” of reality. These are called “duplicates and synthetics.” This means we can shape matter, invent, and build, but we cannot create life or true reality from pure thought.
Beings in higher, non-physical (etheric) realms are said to create directly through consciousness, manifesting “true creations” that arise from the divine Source or God-mind. This is a common theme in esoteric and mystical teachings, where higher planes of existence are thought to be more “real” or fundamental than the physical world.
Here Sananda/Jesus is saying that as long as we are in a human body, living in a physical world, everything we create, or experience here exists within an illusion — a projection of thought appearing as matter. We can imagine, invent, and build things, but those things are not real creations in the divine sense.
Beings who exist in higher, non-physical (etheric) realms can project or manifest energy forms directly from pure thought — they create through consciousness itself. These are “true creations” because they arise directly from Source (God-mind, creative intelligence).
Humans, however, working from within the physical plane, can only make copies or imitations of reality — what the text calls “duplicates and synthetics.” In other words, we can shape matter, but we cannot create life itself from our own thought the way God or higher beings can.
The phrase “holographic duplicate” refers to the idea that higher beings can project or manifest forms that are perfect reflections or “holograms” of divine thought. In spiritual and metaphysical circles, the “holographic universe” theory suggests that every part of reality contains the whole, and that the physical world is a projection from a higher, more fundamental level of existence.
Duplicates and Synthetics (Spiritual Concept)
“Duplicates and synthetics” are used here to describe anything created in the physical world that is not a direct emanation from divine consciousness. In spiritual teachings, this often means that only creations arising from union with the divine mind are truly “alive” or “real”; everything else is a temporary imitation or reflection. This concept is found in various mystical traditions, which warn against mistaking the shadow (the copy) for the substance (the original).
Etheric Realms
The “etheric realms” are described in esoteric teachings as subtle, non-physical planes of existence that are closer to the source of creation. Beings in these realms are believed to create through pure thought and intention, rather than through physical manipulation. These realms are often seen as more “real” or fundamental than the dense physical world.
SO, WHAT IS REAL?
We dwell within a world of reflection, not of Reality. As long as we walk in the garment of flesh, our creations are born within a field of illusion. We fashion forms, images, and experiences, yet these are but shadows upon the veil of matter—reflections of thought, not the Light itself.
Those who dwell within the higher, unseen realms of Creation fashion directly through the living Mind of God. Their works are living thought-forms, sustained by Source and infused with divine intelligence. They project the Real through the substance of Light.
But in the realm of density—the physical expression—we can only imitate. We may duplicate form, shape energy, and simulate life, yet we cannot create life in its divine essence. For true Creation arises only through union with the Thought of God.
So, ask not what you can build with your hands, but what you can allow through your consciousness. Reality is not made; it is revealed. And only through awakening the divine mind within you will you remember what Real is.
Reflection: Take a moment to quiet the mind and feel the distinction between what is made and what is created. Everything that can fade, break, or change belongs to the realm of illusion. Only that which emanates from love, truth, and divine thought is Real. Ask within: What in my life has been built by fear or imitation, and what has flowed from my connection to Source? As you discern the difference, the unreal begins to dissolve, and the Real — eternal, changeless, and luminous — gently reveals itself through you.
