Comparisons Between ACIM and Other Cosmic Teachings
This content explores the teachings of “A Course in Miracles” (ACIM) in relation to other philosophies to help gain a deeper understanding of existence, spirituality, and the essence of being. Although ACIM was transmitted by inner dictation or channeled like the other cosmic teachings, ACIM differs significantly from the teachings we compare here—Phoenix Journals, Urantia Papers, Law of One, and Explorer Race—in its approach to truth, spirituality, and human purpose. While the others focus on cosmic history, extraterrestrial influences, and structured spiritual evolution, ACIM is purely non-dualistic, emphasizing inner transformation through forgiveness and the realization that the world itself is an illusion.
Below are key points of cosmic correlating philosophies, uncovering both parallels and contrasts in the following concepts:
1. Earth Humans Created Unique – Teachings suggest that humans are a species unlike other beings, are designed to explore, experiment, and expand the limits of possibilities.
2. Earth Humans Have Multidimensional Reality – Teachings share insights into the nature of reality, explaining how humans exist across multiple dimensions and timelines.
3. Earth Humans Influenced by Extraterrestrials – Teachings reveals that advanced extraterrestrial civilizations have influenced Earth’s history, guiding humanity even today.
4. Earth Humans Veil of Forgetfulness – Man incarnate into this world with a veil that blocks their full awareness of their past lives and cosmic origins. This is said to be a necessary condition for genuine learning and spiritual growth.
5. Earth Humans Spiritual Evolution – Cosmic teachings suggest that Earth is a training ground for souls to evolve spiritually before moving on to higher realms.
6. Free Will & Challenge-Based Growth – Cosmic teachings expound that unlike many cosmic species that live in harmony but lack the ability to evolve in radical new ways, earth humans are given intense challenges to cultivate wisdom, strength, and creativity.
ACIM takes the most radical stance, giving the teaching that the entire world is a projection of the ego’s false beliefs, while the others see Earth as a place for learning and evolution. Unlike Urantia, Phoenix Journals, and Explorer Race, ACIM gives no attention to cosmic hierarchies, teaching that salvation comes only from recognizing the illusion of separation from the creator father. However, it does not follow that there aren’t any.
