A Human Body
The world teaches us we are human beings, and human beings have bodies. We can see our bodies in mirrors and in images and we see other bodies, making it easy to accept the idea that what we are… are bodies.
Course teaches, “Man CANNOT perceive himself correctly. He has no image at all. The word “image” is always perception related, and is not a product of knowing. Images are symbolic, and stand for something else.”
Yet, world teaches, maybe our body evolved from a single cell organism to monkeys and from monkeys, evolved and are still evolving to one day, be super humans with super-natural abilities.
Course teaches, “The body thinks no thoughts. It has no power to learn, to pardon, or enslave. It gives no orders that the mind need serve, nor sets conditions that it must obey. It holds in prison but the willing mind that would abide in it.”
So, my next question is, whose thinking thoughts, because there is something about us that knows we think. What has the power to learn if bodies with brains can’t? Why do we believe we are bodies, evolving from monkeys to become better humans, so our species can live better and longer lives in bodies?
