Video Teaching Overview
Between 1934-1955, “The Urantia Papers” came to be.
“The Papers” are also known as “The Urantia Book. Its publishers do not name an author, but present it as being written directly by numerous celestial beings. See The Urantia Papers. These “Celestial Beings” are not extraterrestrials and are not previous souls formerly dwelling in our dimension. They say they are “Super-universe Personalities” from another spirit realm totally alien from ours.
In the book, “Urantia” is the cosmic name of our world, planet earth. The book discusses the the mysteries of God, mankind’s place in the universe, our relationship to God, who Jesus was, and much more.
In the book they teach,
“THE Universal Father is the God of all creation…
the First Source and Center of all things and beings. First think of God as a creator, then as a controller, and lastly as an infinite upholder.
Only the concept of the Universal Father—one God in the place of many gods—enabled mortal man to comprehend the Father as divine creator and infinite controller.
Concerning The Celestials’ View on Man’s Religions, the celestials tell us:
“Industry, war, slavery, and civil government arose in response to the social evolution of man in his natural environment; religion similarly arose as his response to the illusory environment of the imaginary ghost world.
Religion was an evolutionary development of self-maintenance, and it has worked, notwithstanding that it was originally erroneous in concept and utterly illogical.
Primitive religion prepared the soil of the human mind…
by the powerful and awesome force of false fear; for the bestowal of a bona-fide spiritual force of SUPERNATURAL origin, the Thought Adjuster. [The Thought Adjuster, is understood to be the Holy Spirit which is part of our mind].
The divine Adjusters have ever since labored to transmute God-fear into God-love. Evolution may be slow, but it is unerringly effective.
The bestowal of a Paradise Son (Jesus) on your world was inherent in the situation of closing a planetary age; it was inescapable, and it was not made necessary for the purpose of winning the favor of God.
What a travesty upon the infinite character of God!
This teaching that his fatherly heart in all its austere coldness and hardness was so untouched by the misfortunes and sorrows of his creatures that his tender mercies were not forthcoming until he saw his blameless Son bleeding and dying upon the cross of Calvary!
But the inhabitants of Urantia are to find deliverance from these ancient errors and pagan superstitions respecting the nature of the Universal Father.
The revelation of the truth about God is appearing, and the human race is destined to know the Universal Father in all that beauty of character and loveliness of attributes so magnificently portrayed by the Creator Son who sojourned on Urantia as the Son of Man and the Son of God.
The religious challenge of this age is to those farseeing and forward-looking men and women of spiritual insight who will dare to construct a new and appealing philosophy of living out of the enlarged and exquisitely integrated modern concepts of cosmic truth, universe beauty, and divine goodness. Such a new and righteous vision of morality will attract all that is good in the mind of man and challenge that which is best in the human soul.
Truth, beauty, and goodness are divine realities, and as man ascends the scale of spiritual living, these supreme qualities of the Eternal become increasingly co-ordinated and unified in God, who is love.”
